What is etalenta.social?

From many conversations we’ve had, we know how important it is for our members not only to be present on the casting platform, but also to exchange ideas with each other, spread industry news and provide support to each other. But there is also a desire for better networking in the film, TV and theatre industry as a whole. That is why we launched etalenta.social.

etalenta.social is part of Mastodon – a social network based on open and free standards, without algorithms, advertising or commercial interests. Mastodon is therefore a real alternative to X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn and is becoming increasingly popular. Mastodon consists of many smaller and specialised communities that are managed by the respective operators without commercial intentions.

We think the concept is great and have decided to open and run such a specialised mastodon community (‘instance’) for the European film, TV and theatre industry. Together, we’ll create a lively space for professional networking, industry news, discussions, exchanges of experiences and mutual support in the industry.

With etalenta.social, we want to create a professional network for the European film, TV and theatre industry. Everyone in the industry is invited to network on etalenta.social and bring the European film industry closer together.

Actresses and actors use it, for example, to publish career news, network with and support each other

Casting Directors use it, for example, to keep up to date with actor news, report on new projects, network with employers, actresses and actors

Agencies use it, for example, to post news about their clients or network with casting directors

Directors, producers and all other professionals in the film industry use it to, for example, inform others about their current projects and network within the industry

Associations, film centres, film commissions and funding bodies use it to, for example, represent the interests of their respective members and communicate publicly, as well as publish news about their activities and projects
